Pratt in Venice alumna Ari Fouse (PiV ‘19) is exhibiting a painting, titled Shift, in the exhibition “Ecstasy: Breathtaking Beauty of Nature” at the Sebastopol Center for the Arts in Sebastopol, California.

The juried exhibition was curated by artist Carol Peek, and opened (online) on January 9, 2021. The work is on view through February 14, 2021.

Ari has also recently accepted a residency at the Dorland Mountain Arts Colony in Temecula, California for August 2021, where she will be producing a new body of work.

Ari Fouse is an oil painter based out of Brooklyn, NY. Her work plays with tension, ambiguity, and the indeterminacy of space. Her most recent body of work, the Water-bound Series, uses the seascape as a vehicle to explore the possibilities of painting and elemental abstraction. Fouse is currently a senior BFA Painting student at Pratt Institute, in Brooklyn. She is also an alumna of the 2019 Pratt in Venice program, where she served as a teaching assistant for the Art History course. While Fouse resides in New York, her native Texas is considered home.
