Graduate Experience, 2018
PENGHUI ZHANG
GRADUATE STUDENT — MA INTERIOR DESIGN
First I am extremely grateful for my opportunity to go to Venice to study oil painting and printmaking. During this time I was able to work on my oil painting; I painted landscapes on the Venetian lagoon! Besides working on art I was able to attend art history lessons, while also studying the class material from the professors, and additionally going on some memorable field trips to historic sites, and on top of that some interesting art historical reading. This was my second scholarship at Pratt. Once again I am extremely grateful to Professor Diana, who not only accepted me as an additional interior design student, but also provided my scholarship.
I enjoyed traveling while at the same time learning professional skills to improve my craft. In addition to the instructors from Pratt, Roberta Feoli De Lucia let me discover a lot of new possibilities in art and changed the direction of my work, including design. This is the most valuable part of the learning process. Finally I would like to thank all the teachers and students that have greatly helped me.
